Nokia AOQB 474943A QSFP28 to SFP28 converter enables smooth transmission from a four-channel port to a single-channel optical transceiver.
It provides the option to use low-speed SFP28 or SFP+ modules in an empty QSFP28 or QSFP+ port, or to achieve cost-effective migration to 100G Ethernet when low-speed connections are needed.
The 100G QSFP28 port supports QSFP+ or QSFP28 optical transceivers. QSFP28 has four wires and can be used as 4x10GbE or 4x25GbE,
while the earlier standard QSFP+ supports four wires, each transmitting at 4x10GbE speed. Devices with SFP28 ports initially support 1x25GbE and SFP+ 10GbE optical components.
The rule is that the port uses optical transceivers of the same or lower speed (depending on the port's characteristics).
The Nokia QSFP28 to SFP28 adapter can be directly inserted into devices with 100G QSFP28 ports, and SFP28 transceivers can be inserted into the adapter.
The SFP28 transceiver will transmit through the first channel (25Gbps) from the four-channel setting of all 100G ports.
SFP+ (10GbE) transceivers can also be inserted into this adapter, but it is recommended to confirm with the device manufacturer whether the QSFP28 port supports channel splitting at 4x10GbE speed.
The SFP+ transceiver in the QSFP28 adapter, like the SFP28 adapter, will transmit through the first channel (10GbE).
