I. Product Description:
This is a 40G optical module that complies with IEEE 802.3ba and QSFP+ MSA standards.

2. Transmission Distance:

Wavelength: 1310nm window. It should be noted that LR4 uses wavelength division multiplexing technology, actually using 4 different lanes, each lane having one wavelength.
Specific 4-channel wavelengths: 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, 1331nm (in accordance with IEEE standards). Inside the module,
these four wavelengths are multiplexed (Mux) onto one optical fiber for transmission, and then demultiplexed (DeMux) at the receiving end. 
So although it is 4 channels, the optical fiber link only requires one pair (two) LC single-mode optical fibers.

Interface: Duplex LC. This is the most obvious difference from many other 40G modules using MPO/MTP interfaces (such as SR4). 
The LC interface is very common and is consistent with the interface of 10G SFP+ LR modules, making wiring convenient.
5. Optical Fiber Type:
Single-mode optical fiber. Single-mode optical fibers of specifications such as G.652.D must be used to achieve a transmission distance of 10 kilometers.
6. DOM Function:
Digital Optical Monitoring. This is a very important function, allowing network administrators to monitor the working status of the module in real time, including:
Output/Input optical power, supply voltage, laser bias current, module operating temperature. This greatly facilitates network operation and fault troubleshooting.
7. Power Consumption:
Typical power consumption is usually below 3.5W, which is a relatively low power consumption level in QSFP+ modules.
